Coastal communities are increasingly at risk of extreme storm damage, flooding, and shoreline erosion. As these coastal issues worsen with rising sea levels and climate change, it is imperative that communities receive the federal support necessary to carry out shoreline stabilization and nourishment projects to protect public safety and promote economic resilience.

With $200 million available for beach nourishment annually, all coastal communities will be able to build resilience to coastal threats, without competing or losing out to other beaches.

The American Coastal Coalition applauds Senator Andy Kim of New Jersey for leading the charge alongside six other coastal senators committed to keeping our beach communities resilient.
