American Coastal Coalition Endorses Resilient Coasts and Estuaries Act of 2025

The American Coastal Coalition (ACC), the nation’s leading advocate for America’s coastal communities and beaches, proudly supports the Resilient Coasts and Estuaries Act of 2025 (H.R. 2786), introduced by Representative Mike Levin (D-CA) and co-sponsored by Representatives Jen Kiggans (R-VA), Brian Mast (R-FL), and others. This bipartisan bill establishes a Coastal and Estuarine Resilience and Restoration Program to safeguard critical coastal ecosystems like the Tijuana watershed from sea level rise and climate change. The program would allocate $47 million annually through 2029 to expand National Estuarine Research Reserves.

“The ACC is proud to have Representative Levin’s ongoing support for coastal issues,” said Dan Ginolfi, Executive Director of the American Coastal Coalition. “The bill addresses a long standing pollution crisis at the border while bolstering other estuaries as well, ensuring our beaches and ecosystems thrive.” The ACC urges Congress to pass this bill swiftly to protect America’s coasts for future generations.
