In a letter to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin, the American Coastal Coalition expressed its support for the urgent renewal of Hurrevac, an interagency hurricane evacuation tool used by over 30,000 emergency planners to make critical public safety decisions during hurricanes.

The Hurrevac system provides emergency managers with extreme weather forecasting graphics, local evacuation routes, surge and wind probabilities, and even timelines of when to prepare and when to evacuate. With the start of Hurricane season quickly approaching on June 1, the ACC urges prompt renewal of the Hurrevac contract to prevent a lapse in service and protect vulnerable coastal communities who rely on this tool.
